Terrazzo Amazes Travelers as CDIA Concourse A Opens to the Public

Charlotte, North Carolina — The Charlotte Douglas International Airport opened its newly renovated Concourse A to the public.

With the Destination CLT initiative making improvements to all its concourses and terminals, the airport is positioned to please travelers well into the future. Upgrades to the concourse include more technology, more space, and even new terrazzo floors.

To date, this is the largest project to utilize TERRAZZCO® Brand Products. Concord Terrazzo Company supplied TERRAZZCO® Brand epoxy resins and aggregates, later installed by Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo, a local terrazzo contractor in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Charlotte ranks as the seventh busiest airport in the world; therefore, terrazzo brings the much-needed durability for the increased traffic expected in the following years to come.

This is a big project for Concord Terrazzo Company. The terrazzo floors at Charlotte Douglas International Airport promotes sustainability, using local materials here in the Charlotte area and recycled post-consumer glass for much of the terrazzo’s design. By using locally sourced materials, it reduces the carbon footprint left from cross-country travels.
